Chililabombwe Mayor Lucky Sichone has called upon Mulonga Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited (MWSC) to accelerate construction and rehabilitation works aimed at improving services.

Mayor, Sichone was speaking when he visited several projects site to check on the progress and he expressed satisfaction with the workmanship

He said that he was happy with the progress made so far but called upon the Company to accelerate some works were possible as there was heightened demand from the Community.  

Mayor Sichone was particularly impressed with the extensive infrastructure upgrades, which will effectively double the capacity of the existing production capacity.

He said that the improvements would greatly enhance the water supply to the community and address longstanding challenges and improve the quality of life for the community.

MWSC Acting Head of Service Delivery Ezra Mulenga assured the Mayor that the works were on track and some are expected to be commissioned by September 2024.

The Mayor also lauded the innovative work being done at the Hilltop Reservoir, highlighting his excitement about the potential impact of this long-awaited project.

He expressed optimism that the new infrastructure would bring significant and positive changes to the community.
