Ministry of Water Development and Sanitation Mike Mposha has called for the prioritization of water and sanitation service improvement in the utilization of Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Speaking during a tour of Mulonga Water Supply and Sanitation Company (MWSC) project sites Hon Mposha said that the community was key in selecting projects which would impact their well being.

He said that the government had created an opportunity through CDF for communities to select priority areas of development and that water and sanitation was expected to be a priority.

“Government is aware of the need to scale up water and sanitation provision to our people that is the reason for the increase in allocation of CDF. With CDF the communities are able to select priority areas themselves and water and sanitation is cross cutting so it should be a priority.” he said.
